Maternity photography is all about creating stunning images that create beautiful memories that you can hold onto forever.
It is not easy to get infront of the camera, it makes many people feel vulnerable and often I hear women talk about their struggle to embrace their changing bodies. Your bump is perfect. Your body is growing another person, that is incredible and pregnancy can teach you to love your body more than ever.
The two main reasons to book a maternity session are:
- Pregnacy is BEAUTIFUL. You have created a human being, growing and being nourished inside of you. The extra pounds, crazy hormones are proof of the miracle growing inside of you.
- To Celebrate. A maternity session is a way for you to celebrate the baby you are about to meet, to celebrate the love you have for one another and to celebrate the strength of your body.
I’m sure pregnancy can be a whirlwind time, from deciding on a name, decorating the perfect nursery to preparing for the arrival of your little one. It is nice to have beautiful photos to look back on from that special time.
A few simple tips for your maternity session:
Timing. It is the most important consideration, plan your session towards the end of your second trimester, you’ll have an adorable bump and still have the energy to dress up and wander around for the session.
Choosing your clothes for the session. Dresses that are flowy always photograph beautifully. You can always choose a second outfit, a bit more fitted to show off your bump. * We have a few maternity dresses that are available for sessions*
Choosing a location for your photos is important. The setting has a impact on the look and feel of your photos. Choose a location that’s naturally beautiful or has special meaning to you that will create stunning images that reflect you and the excitement of your growing family.
